Skin Concerns & Condition
Read all about your skin concerns
Acne:
Acne is one of the most common skin concerns in the UK and is caused by an overproduction of oil by the sebaceous glands which builds up within the pores and collects debris, such as dead cells and bacteria. Acne is caused by a combination of bacteria, excess oil, and pores becoming clogged with dead skin cells; hormones or stress can lead to breakouts as well. Acne products reduce cell build up to help improve the appearance of existing and past acne blemishes, help to prevent future acne breakouts, and promote clear skin.
Hyperpigmentation:
Hyperpigmentation is any patch of skin that looks darker than your natural skin tone due to overproduction of the brown pigment, melanin. • Inflammation. Skin trauma — such as acne, eczema, bug bites, cuts & scrapes. • Sun Exposure. The sun’s UV rays hitting your skin trigger extra melanin production as a way to defend your skin from damage. That extra melanin is what gives you a tan. However, when sun exposure is frequent or excessive it can make dark “sun” spots appear. • Melasma. This often is referred to as the “mask of pregnancy,”. Melasma is characterised by brown patches that can commonly form in women during pregnancy.
Melasma:
Melasma is a very common skin condition. It causes dark irregular patches on skin, otherwise known as hyperpigmentation. Most people, at some point of their lives, come across this patchy brown discolouration and while it’s not a dangerous condition, it’s certainly an unpleasant one. There are a number of potential causes of melasma, including: Birth control pills, your skincare products and lack of sun protection! For patients with Melasma, we suggest regular use of ZO Skin Health products or Cyspera® Intensive Pigment Corrector.
Rosacea:
Rosacea, Redness, Sensitive Skin is a condition involving the face, characterised by symptoms such as redness of the cheeks or whole face, feeling of stinging or sunburn, tendency to blushing and flushing, acne like pimples, broken blood vessels. Redness normally appears on the cheeks, nose chin and forehead. Rosacea is an inflammatory condition which typically appears between the age 30 and 50 and affect more women than men. The causes of Rosacea, red and sensitive skin are not known and the condition cannot be cured completely but it can be treated and controlled very successfully and the appearance of the skin can be improved dramatically.
Unwanted Hair:
Excessive or unwanted hair that grows on the body can be annoying and time consuming to manage. Shaving and waxing can also lead to further irritation of the skin. Many have unwanted hair on various areas of the body including the face, neck, chin, legs, arms and intimate area. Luckily, there are now non-invasive long term options to remove the hair permanently - using the Soprano Ice Platinum at our London clinic.

I had some laser treatments for hair removal at Ace with Sue. Sue has a very friendly, gentle and lovely personality and she uses the best machine on the market: the Soprano which is virtually pain free. She turned it on to a high setting at my request and it has made the hair removal very efficient. I could not be any happier!
